The blanket is really warm, fat, and ideal for camping but it can also be used indoors. It will keep you cozy wherever your adventures take you, even if that's just in front of your fireplace.
The blanket weighs 2.6kg - 5.6lbs, with a density of 740GSM (that means nice and thick).
Our heavyweight blankets are inspired by the blankets used by the Canadian Indian Tribes, a beautiful replica of the iconic Hudson’s Bay point blankets. They are very warm and soft, perfect for those cold winter nights. During production, the blankets are shrunk in water to a desirable size, thus the final product is denser and heavier with extraordinary warmth.

Our Wool
Our sheep wool is locally sourced from a small and independent wool grower, and it is fully traceable.
From the skirting to the carding and the spinning, all is done in our mill.
The wool is not bleached with hydrogen peroxide, not chlorine treated, and not carbonised with sulphuric acid. Pure soap and hard work, that's all it is! The chosen method of processing is much heavier but it ensures high quality and is environment friendly.
We clean up after ourselves.

After owning this blanket now for 2 weeks, I can say it is easily the most comfortable and warm blanket I've used in a long time! It's hard to find blankets these days that are on the thicker side, and heavier blankets are generally speaking better when you are buying wool blankets, so at 740g/m2 these blankets are nice and thick, made in the mills of the Rhodope mountains. They also have been double napped, meaning both sides of the blanket has a soft fuzzy texture which lends itself to being even warmer as that fuzzy surface traps more warm air. For the price it is also a generously sized blanket, I typically use it for my bed but also on my couch during winter evenings, and its large enough to wrap around me easily. Also I have to say that the color is gorgeous, it looks so lovely, i'm a big fan of the natural, unbleached off-white of this blanket, its so handsome and rustic looking. The strips of ochre on the blanket ends is so aesthetically appealing, as far as looks go, this is my favorite wool blanket by far in my collection.
As far as critiques go, the only thing I can even think of worth mentioning is that the blanket sheds a very small amount of fiber, not enough to be annoying or messy but enough that if your wearing a black colored jacket for instance, the light colored fibers will show up as tiny pieces of lint, as it contrasts against the black of the jacket. I've experienced shedding on other blankets I've owned in the past and this shedding is normal and very minimal and is typical of brand new wool blankets that have been napped like this, and generally speaking this shedding diminishes towards zero after a number of months use, as the looser fibers fall out and the stronger fibers remain, nothing unusual but is worth mentioning at the same time.
Overall I would say this is one of my best blankets I now own, and I intend to buy another from Luvianwoollens in a couple of months time when we head back into winter. If your thinking about buying one of these blanket then I say don't hesitate to buy one for yourself, or for family as a gift, this blanket would look great even if it was just laying on top of a couch in your sitting room.
Great job Luvianwoollens team! Excited to see what you plan for the future.
Earthy and sumptuous, dense, extra warm, an old world treasure, a rare find and an instant heirloom. Sweet dreams.
